About Us

Mission & Vision
The Colorado Association of the Deaf works to advance the rights, access, and well-being of Deaf Coloradans through ASL-centered advocacy, aiming for a future where every Deaf person has full language access, equal opportunity, and a strong, connected community.

History (1904 - Present)
Founded in 1904, CAD has grown from a small Deaf advocacy group into Colorado’s primary voice for ASL access and civil rights. Today, it leads statewide efforts to protect, support, and empower Deaf communities.

Board & Staff Team
Our team is made up of dedicated professionals and community volunteers committed to advancing Deaf rights, access, and ASL-centered advocacy across Colorado. Together, we provide strategic direction, operational support, and culturally grounded leadership to strengthen the impact of CAD statewide.

Governance
The Colorado Association of the Deaf is governed by an elected Board that sets statewide priorities, ensures accountability, and protects the rights and needs of Deaf Coloradans. Our governance emphasizes transparency, community leadership, and ethical decision-making grounded in ASL, equity, and public service.
